Knight Rider

A lone crime-fighter and his talking, self-aware supercar KITT take on injustice for the Foundation for Law and Government.

Knight Rider premiered on NBC on 26 September 1982 and ran for four seasons. It starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a former police officer given a new identity by the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). His partner was KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), a sleek black Pontiac Trans Am with artificial intelligence, voiced by William Daniels.

With its synth theme tune, gadget-laden car and weekly do-gooding, the show became one of the defining action series of the decade.
